Even more baby bluebird pictures!

Getting a good family picture can be so hard. Someone’s moving, someone’s not looking at the camera, someone’s eating, one of the kids is hungry…sigh!

Anyone interested in a picture over here? Say cheese…uh oh, we lost one of the kids.

Let’s try one of just dad and junior…maybe a little closer together. Um, close your mouth, junior.

How ’bout just mom and a kid. Anyone? Bueller?…….Bueller? My, what are you feeding that bird?!

Okay, let’s try a different backdrop. Just the kids please. We seem to be missing the other three, but oh well. Squeeze together…nice! Now act like you like each other…um maybe looking at each other would help.

Um, dad, can we get some assistance here, please? One’s looking the wrong way again.

Let’s try it again you two…say cheese! Hey, you in the back, pay attention!

Right. Well, I can see we’re done for today, then. Um, nice effort everyone. We’ll try this again another time.  Dave :-)

Dave,
lol…that’s a lot of patience you have as the lead photographer..sounds like you might work for a tv station, all you need is a few meal worm commercials!!

Loved this post and your funny dialog to go with it!!!
They are so pretty!

Oh how precious, Dave. They are just too cute!!! What do you think happened to the other three???? Or maybe you are seeing all of them —at different times. I love it that they have their mouths open–always wanting Mommy to feed them… How CUTE!!!!

Mine are about 7-8 days old now I think…They are getting feathers.
Hugs to all four of you,
Betsy

Very well done. These little guys are beginning to look grownup.
Blessings,Ruth

Gosh, Dave, you had me laughing the whole way through this!
They are certainly growing and becoming more beautiful!
Gorgeous shots!!

Thanks for the laughs, Dave. Great photographs.

Excellent post and story. Wonderful I would say… So funny and cute!

These pictures are great. I have a next with 3 eggs. One has hatched (yesterday). The other two have not. Will they hatch? I see the parents actively feeding the new one. This is the second year I’ve had an active next. Last year they nested in a purple martin house. However, I believe a startling or house sparrow got to them last year. We built a new bluebird box and took down the purple martin box. They seem to be doing well. Just curious if there is something wrong with the other two eggs that haven’t hatched.

Great photos! I’m curious how you got them–once our baby bluebirds fledged, (this year and the last few) the whole family took off for about 2 weeks, ne’er to be seen! Your photos are wonderful!

Beautiful pictures. My, they grow up fast!

Gotta love those big fat blue babies! They are the cutest baby birds I ever did see (of course I am just a little biased toward them ;-) Really nice pictures, Dave!

I must say that these have come a long way in a short period of time.

Our babies have been back on our deck, learning to come to the feeders with mom and dad. We’re so excited–they are adorable. Thanks for sharing these–great shots!

Sharon, usually they all hatch within a day of one another, so you may have a few eggs that are in trouble. If you can safely get them out of the box now that it’s been several days, it’d be good to do so. You’ll avoid attracting ants that way. Just be quick and careful with your nestling…mama and dad bluebird won’t like you reaching inside! :-) This happened to us last year; here’s the post I wrote about it:

Sue, how fun! Glad they’ve returned for you!
